AAALAC Accreditation

The UIC animal care and use program is fully accredited by AAALAC- International. AAALAC accreditation is a voluntary process, which demonstrates an institution’s commitment to provide the highest level of animal care and welfare.

USDA Registration

The UIC animal care and use program is in full compliance with the Animal Welfare Act and is registered with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

OLAW Assurance

The UIC animal care and use program holds an assurance with the Public Health Service through the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare (OLAW). This assurance is essential to obtain funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and National Science Foundation (NSF).
