BRL Scheduled Electrical Outage – Saturday May 30th
Introduction
There is a scheduled electrical power outage in the BRL the evening of Saturday, May 30th. This scheduled outage is essential and one of the final components of the BRL renovation project. The outage will be from approximately 5:00 pm on the 30th of May to approximately 1:00am on Sunday, May 31st. The outage will affect the entire building. It will not, however, affect the animal facility in the basement of COMRB.
During the outage, there will be emergency power with very minimal lighting in the hallway and only designated emergency power outlets will be functional. Otherwise, there will be no electric power, no operational elevators, and no building access so we ask that you and your staff not enter the building during the outage for safety reasons. It should be noted that the outage will decrease the light phase on the evening of Saturday, May 30th.
FM staff will be closely monitoring the facility during the outage. Please plan your studies accordingly, including shutting down all sensitive equipment. Following the outage, BRL staff will reset all light timers. Please pass this information along to appropriate members in your lab.
