Animal Operations (AOPs) Transition
Introduction
In early September, the BRL will transition to a new electronic animal operations system (AOPS) which is integrated with the ACC protocol management system. All BRL transactions including animal orders, imports/exports, transfers, and billing will be performed in AOPS. There are significant benefits to having an integrated system with the ACC, including streamlined animal use tracking and a centralized dashboard. The BRL will provide AOPS training and information through townhalls and materials for research staff beginning in July. A few important items to note:
-
Please check the BRL website frequently for updates. We have created a specific AOPs page under the Research Resources tab (https://brl.uic.edu/animal-operations/) and will be posting announcements, townhall dates, and links to training materials. Updates will also be communicated via email.
-
It is anticipated that there will be a two-week period (August 21st – September 1st) during which we will be unable accept any new/incoming animal orders, imports/exports, or transfers. Please plan your studies accordingly.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work to smoothly transition to this new platform.
